Finding the right venue for your corporate party
Most disappointments don't happen at dinner — they happen when choosing the venue. Look at five things: Is the space booked exclusively for you, or do you share the building with other groups? Is it sized for your guest count — too large feels empty, too small feels cramped? Can your guests get there easily by car and public transport? Are catering, service and technology available from one source, or do you have to coordinate everything separately? And how flexible is the evening if it runs longer than planned?

How much budget should you plan per person?
There is no flat rate, because a corporate party has many variables. The biggest differences come from guest numbers, the scope of catering (flying finger food, buffet or a multi-course menu), the choice of drinks, the duration and the programme. A relaxed summer party with a barbecue and beer works out differently from a festive winter dinner with live cooking.

Celebrating tax-free: the €110 allowance
Company events in Germany are exempt from wage tax and social security contributions up to a current tax-free allowance of €110 gross per employee — and that applies to up to two events per year. Important: since 2015 this has been a tax-free allowance – if it is exceeded, only the excess becomes taxable, not the entire amount. Note: not tax advice.
The €110 includes all the costs of the event — venue, catering, drinks, programme, even the proportional cost for accompanying guests.
